Craig Latimore

Top End Barramundi Specialist

Craig has developed something of a name for himself over the past five years fishing the top end. The Darwin-based fisho has been slamming the big silver fish, winning competitions and racking up plenty of meteries. In this Sonar Masterclass he’ll walk us through how he uses his marine electronics to get an unfair advantage over the fish!

About This Sonar Masterclass:

Our Sonar Masterclasses are an opportunity for some top anglers to explain how their marine electronics can be used to full advantage to not only find fish, but to figure our which ones are actively feeding and target them specifically. Regular podcast listeners will know that many of my guests of the show who have talked barra won’t even cast a lure until they see fish on their screen, that’s how important marine electronics are in the scheme of things!

In this Masterclass we’re going to focus on the big saltwater barramundi that Craig specifically targets around the top end. He’ll explain his sounder strategies and settings and what you need to know. But we’re not limited just to sonar talk, feel free to ask Craig more general questions about how to go about snagging XOS barra and he’ll be happy to help!

Being a subject matter expert for barra trolling here locally in Darwin, do you actively search for fish prior to dropping the lures in to begin fishing? Or alternatively cover ground in search of aggregating fish.

Lastly what is your preference when trolling, with the tide or against it?
