Fish Hunter FNQ is a professional outfit with well maintained, quality equipment and tackle and an exceptional guide with access to some of the most spectacular sportfishing locations a lure or fly angler could hope to experience.

Operating from Cairns, Fish Hunter FNQ is central to the Johnstone, Russell and Mulgrave Rivers, World Heritage listed Daintree River, Tinaroo Dam and Trinity Inlet. If you only have half a day to fish then we'll stick to waterways close to base - we can have you out of a Cairns hotel and casting lures at fish in just 20-30 minutes. For those with a little more time up their sleeve, we can head for more distant destinations to increase the possibilities.

What To Expect

This is a small group fishing experience, with no more than two anglers on the boat. Quality Shimano reels and G Loomis rods make fishing a pleasure and can handle just about everything you’re likely to encounter. Enjoy watching the prized Barramundi eating your shallow running lure in under a metre of water, or experience Trevally and Queenfish crash a surface popper. During the wetter months (January to May), we can travel to the upper reaches of the rivers chasing species like Sooty Grunter, Jungle Perch, Mangrove Jack and Barra, some of these days can produce unbelievable numbers of fish. We keep our numbers small and our experience big.
